Creating Connections to Enrich Quality at End-of-Life

Goals/ Learning Objectives:
Attendees will:
- expand their worldview regarding the importance of applying diverse spiritual approaches at the end-of-life,
- identify spiritual themes that appear at end-of-life,
- apply approaches to empower patients to move from suffering to transformation
Background of Speakers:
Elizabeth Wilde, MSW, LCSW, is the Social Service Program Coordinator to the No Veteran Dies Alone, and Respite Program for the St. Louis Department of Veterans Affairs. As a US Army Veteran with specialization in grief, loss and trauma, she has lectured and trained nationally, regionally and locally on suicide
and bereavement, trauma, military culture, and death and dying. Mrs. Wilde is a graduate of The Brown School, Washington University in St, Louis, with certifications in End-of-Life and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is a Reiki Master Teacher, Tai Chi practitioner and one of the first women in the nation to be appointed as an American Legion County Commander, where she served nearly 3,000 Veterans.
Jason Winfrey, RN, BSN, CHPN, is a registered nurse with Season’s Hospice with over 10 years of hospice experience as a case manager, educator & preceptor for medical & nursing students. He earned his BSN at St. Louis University and has served as medical lay missionary in Haiti & Liberia and volunteered many hours as camp grief counselor for children experiencing loss.
